She’s Only Safe in Heaven Makes a soft blanket of fleece,
                                                                       The blanket keeps her warm,
The environment is a beautiful thing, Warm enough till she cries,
But taking care of it is more than that. Warm enough till she dies,
At least she’ll be green again,
The clear water, There, where she is cared for in heaven.
        Now brown,
The swimming fishes Shreya Sahai Bhatnagar
        Now drown, MYP -4
        Her sandy land,
        Now semi-synthetic, A LESSON LEARNED
        Her coughs and cries,
Very pathetic. I Learned about gender,
All the incorrect pictures we tend to render
She tries and tries, I often think
She thrives yet cries, Why he goes out for work?
Cries songs of pain, And the home is her sole perk?
That go down the drains. Why boys opt for blue and women select pink?
Why cars for him and dolls for her?
        She tries to stand strong,
But lies and lies, Why changes for her and Satisfaction for him?
Lies wrap her in a sarong, Why dowry for her as if she may be a thing?
Lies of helping her, And he’s her owner, her king.
Are all for the sake of it, Why she leaves her family, her home?
The lies of treating her, While he stays here in his dome?
Are lies so clean they knit, And to that man who thinks women are frail,
Who looked after you, when you wailed?
These very lies wrap her in dust, All women should be treated with the same respect
