GIS was co-founded in 2006 by Nick Geddes and Jim Brotton. An independent, privately owned business with headquarters in Cambridge, UK, the company has grown consistently over the past decade and now has a strong team of over 60 employees: in 2017 we moved to new headquarters in Cambridge to facilitate further growth. Key regional customer technical support is also provided in China and Japan.
Eighty-one percent of the company’s total sales in 2016/2017 were in international markets in Europe, Asia and the USA – sustaining our continued growth and commercial performance. GIS’ overseas earnings more than doubled in the period 2015 to 2017, and the company now exports to more than 20 countries worldwide.
This second Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade recognises GIS’ outstanding growth and diversity in overseas markets, and is testament to our skilled and dedicated staff, who are committed to develop, deliver and support continued product innovation.
