vapour deposition (PVD) system
used to deposit thin metal layers
onto semiconductor wafers to form
electrical connections inside each of
the hundreds or thousands of chips on each wafer. Unique (patented) features of the Sigma® 300mm PVD system includes a multi-wafer degas chamber that delivers twice the wafer throughputs as competing systems. SPTS’s Sigma® PVD system for fan-out wafer level packaging (FOWLP) of semiconductors is used by all the top FOWLP companies in the world and deployed in the world’s leading smartphones.
SPTS Technologies employs around 300 people in Newport with another 200 employees in 11 overseas locations.
