Cheesy Maru Oppa, from $16.80 for 8 DAYS
         a nine-inch pizza; feeds six
This reminds us of a Korean version of Pizza Hut’s PICK
stuffed crust pizza. The crust here is made with green
tea dough, which is fermented for two days with green
tea powder and tastes like a chewy pretzel with the
delicate fragrance of the brew. We like it better than the
black rice crust. It's worth paying an extra $3.20 to amp
your pizza with the Bite Edge crust (which has sweet
potato mousse and string cheese stuffed into bite-sized
crust rolls that you tug out to eat). The unusual pairing is
creative and surprisingly quite yummy. Good with piquant
spicy chicken chunks, chicken ham and veggies
smothered in an umami blend of alfredo
sauce, barbecue sauce and sour cream.

We think the precision pays off: each parmesan

            Red Velvet Latte,
         $6.90
         Although it’s called a latte,
         this is really a smoothie
         blended with milk,
chocolate powder and Kimchi Bulgogi Tower, $12.80
red food colouring. If you die die must have rice, Pizza Maru offers a fun take
It’s supposed to on bibimbap (which means ‘mixed rice’ in Korean). The
be topped with dish is moulded into a very photogenic ‘tower’ heaped with
Korean rice succulent beef bulgogi (K-style grilled meat marinated in
cakes, but we got soy sauce), veggies and wispy strands of fried potato crisps.
marshmallows Tasty and makes for a full meal by itself.
         instead ’cos
the kitchen ran out of rice
cakes. It’s a thick, flavourless BOTTOM LINE: We like the hearty, full-flavoured
concoction that only occupies grub served in generous portions that are good for
unnecessary tummy space sharing. Ironically, the delish fried chicken here is more
for what’s already a very memorable than the pizzas.
         carb-heavy meal.
