To make the mashed sweet potatoes:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
2. Place the sweet potatoes on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for
30 to 35 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are very tender.
3. Let cool for 5 minutes. Peel the sweet potatoes and place them
in a serving bowl. Add the butter, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
Mash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher to desired
smoothness.
4. Serve the cranberry sauce over the turkey with the mashed
sweet potatoes on the side.
Serves 4. Prep time: 10 minutes. Cooking time: 30 minutes. Total time: 40 minutes.
