Chapter 2 – Fundamentals of Laser Tattoo Removal v1.0
Figure 58a: Clearly, this tattoo has suffered tissue loss due to post-treatment infection. In fact, it appears that the infection is still inducing further damage, at this point.
This treatment has left part of the treated area with no epidermis, exposing the underlying ink to the environment.
With proper care, this should not present any problem to the bearer.
This situation might have occurred because of an adverse reaction to the laser energy, or possibly due to excessive fluences applied.
Figure 58b: In this case, there appears to be significant tissue damage due to infection. In both these cases, suitable medical intervention is required.
