World Senior citizens day - 02.08.2019
The World Senior Citizens Day is celebrated on 21st of August
every year. We at San Academy set aside August 2nd to raise awareness
about the factors and issues affecting older people, such as deterioration
with age and to examine issues that affect their lives such as abuse of
elderly people. Opportunities were created in order to let the students
recognize and appreciate the contributions that older people make to
society.
The special assembly conducted by class VIA, centred on this theme
wholeheartedly. They presented a well scripted and enacted skit to raise
awareness about the conditions of the people who are old and those
who are entering old age. They even touched upon the deteriorating
relationship with grandparents and the measures that can be taken to
rectify it. Their messages were strengthened by thought provoking charts.
International day of Friendship - 05.08.2019
As the saying goes “Friend in need is a friend indeed” which
means that whenever you are in need, a friend is there for you. Friendship
Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. This year in 2019, it was
celebrated on 4 August in the special assembly conducted by Class VI B.
San Academy Kamakoti Nagar had a cheerful look on Monday (5.08.2019)
with students wishing each other and the teachers on the occasion.
Hands could be seen with several friendship bands of varied designs
and colours. A beautiful poem on Friends was recited by Joshitha.
Shakespeare in his poem ‘Friends and Flatters’ explicitly brings out the
difference between the real friend, who is the one to stand with us in our
ups and downs and flatterers, who stand with us only when we stand. In
a beautifully conducted group discussion titled – “Is friendship relation
is more precious than a blood relation?” – the students put forth their
strong points and made it quite interesting for the audience.
