International Day For The Eradication Of Poverty – 21.10.2019
International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed as
it is a time to reflect on the great inroads that have been made to
end the scourge of poverty. However, the international poverty line
does not fully describe how people experience poverty in multiple
and simultaneous ways. Students of class VI D innovatively captured
the way people experience poverty in their daily lives through their
programme. They examined whether a household has access to
drinking water, sanitation facilities or electricity or whether a household
member has completed five years of schooling. At the end of the day
the students must surely have been counting their blessings.
World Post Day – 22.10.2019
One of the best ways to appreciate the postal technology is
to celebrate World Post Day each year on October 9. In San, class
V A students celebrated World Post Day aiming for increase in the
awareness of people about the role of postal sector for people and
businesses every day. Teacher along with students presented the
assembly with speech and charts. Students took home the importance
of post in day to day life.
United Nation’s Day – 23.10.2019
Aside from world peace, UN’s role has grown to include protecting human rights, promoting social and
economic development, and providing aid around the world in cases of famine, natural disaster and armed conflict.
24 October has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948. Our school celebrated this day on 23rd October.
A variety of events marked the day. The Special Assembly had involvement from Classes IV to IX. Class IV
students formed a strong choir group singing “Hum Honge Kamyab” in various language which had the audience
humming with them. Class V went Global by crooning “We are the World” by Michael Jackson. Class VI laid emphasis
on the ‘Innovation for Girl’s Education’ by presenting a thought provoking skit. Classes VII and VIII depicted the
theme of Women Empowerment through a Dance. The assembly was not entirely entertainment. We had a student
from Class VIII explaining the theme “Greening the Blue” and students from Class IX talked about the importance of
UN and then held a debate on “Fighting the Carbon imprint – The Great Climate Change”.
Students were taken out for a rally with all safety measures during school hours. Students prepared charts
for the rally on the topics – Save water, Inovation for Girl’s Education, Women Empowerment, Fighting Carbon
Footprint and Save Earth from Plastic. The Chief Guest of the Day Mr. Arun Krishna founder of EFI (Environmentalist
Foundation of India gave a very inspirational speech which was heart rending.
