“I’ll have dinner ready in no time flat,” said Grami. “I left soup cooking in the crock pot and we have crackers with peanut butter. Please set the table.”
Aimi put two bowls and two plates on the table along with two spoons, two glasses, two knives, and two napkins. “I’m going to tell Kiki all about Solly the chimpanzee while I set the table,” said Aimi.
“DJ told us about chimpanzee brains,” Grami heard Aimi say. “And Kiki, did you know that Solly has a communication center in his brain?”
Grami did not hear Kiki, Aimi’s imaginary friend, say anything back to Aimi. “It’s in Broca’s Area,” went on Aimi. “That’s the name for the language center. The human brain has one, too.”
