Prerequisite: None. This course surveys the physical sciences: Chemistry, Physics, and Earth/Space
Science. Energy and matter will be the focus of the course, including the study of the composition of
matter, changes in matter, forces and motion, energy in systems, and topics in astronomy. This course
will stress the development of scientific thinking through problem solving and quantitative analysis.
Laboratory activities will be an essential part of this class.
