Description:
This 1-day fully guided cycle/wine tour has you cycling through one of the most spectacular gorges on the Otago Central Rail Trail and a wine tour experience sampling some of the incredible award-winning wines from our region. The trail is vehicle-free, has an easy gradient and takes you through amazing scenery, over viaducts and through tunnels. Your guide will transport you from Clyde, highlighting points of interest along the way, to Oturehua where you can start the mainly downhill ride back to Lauder.
Your adventure starts at 8:30am at our Clyde Depot where you will be fitted on your bikes and briefed on your tour. We will then transport into the peace of the Ida Valley to Oturehua, where there is time for morning tea and any last-minute questions before you set off. The ride will take you through the Poolburn Gorge featuring two tunnels and two viaducts in a secluded rocky setting. The next stop is Lauder where lunch is booked at the Stationside Café. From there it is back in the shuttle and onto sampling some award-winning wine and cheeses. Relax and immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of Central Otago as we go.

• Cycle equipment: bicycle, helmet, repair kit, panniers, odometer and trail documentation

• Transport: Clyde to Oturehua by shuttle - departing Clyde at 9:00am
• Wine and cheese sampling
Optional Extras:
• Discounted rate of $45.00 extra per person per day to upgrade to electric bikes. Subject to availability
