and remove the sufferings and sorrows of mankind. They would become true Children of God.
As Children of God, brothers and sisters may have their quarrels, yet they are always bonded together by the strings of Love. Their Divine bond eases dif cult situations and reminds them that their relationship is at a deeper level, and that the world is an extension of their own Self. Such a great ideal is propagated by all religious traditions, and if everyone were to understand that ideal profoundly, world peace would not be out of reach.
Peace Begins within You
Your spiritual movement inward is not limited to your own personality; it always has its outer expression. If you bring peace within yourself, you will become a peacemaker in the world outside. But without nding peace within yourself, or without at least having the ideal of nding peace within, you could not bring peace to the world.
Being too enthusiastic about bringing peace to the world without rst nding inner peace within yourself will bring immense stress and distraction within your own mind, and may actually create havoc around you. Universal Love cannot be kindled through a sentimental process. If, in trying to love everyone, you become so ecstatic that you forget about doing your duties at home or even at work, then that isn’t universal Love—it’s just sentimentality.
