REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICES AND PARADES

        Edmonton
        A number of ceremonies and events will be held throughout Edmonton, CTV News has compiled a number of
        the major events set to take place on Remembrance Day:
              Remembrance Day Service and Wreath-laying Ceremony at City Hall (1 Sir Winston Churchill
                Square): The event is scheduled to start at 10:15 a.m. with a service in the City Room at City Hall,
                followed by a procession to the wreath-laying at the cenotaph at about 10:55 a.m.
              Remembrance Day Ceremony at the U of A Butterdome (89 Ave. and 112 St.): The public is invited to
                pay their respects at the annual ceremony at the Butterdome. Organizers asked attendees to be seated
                by 10 a.m.
              Remembrance Day Service at West Edmonton Mall (Ice Palace): Hosted by the Jasper Place Branch
                #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the annual event honours and remembers Canada’s war veterans,
                peacekeepers and those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving. The service begins at 10 a.m.
              Service at the Beverly Cenotaph: A church service will be held at the Maranatha Christian Reformed
                Church (11905 47 Street) at 9:30 a.m. followed by a parade at 10:20 a.m., making its way to the
                Beverly Cenotaph (4001 118 Avenue) the service continues at about 11 a.m. at the cenotaph.
              Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum Remembrance Day Ceremony: The ceremony will be
                held at the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre (10440 108 Avenue). The ceremony is set to
                start at 10 a.m. with a traditional moment of silence at 11 a.m.
              Light the Bridge: Officials said the High Level Bridge will be lit in red and white on Friday for
                Remembrance Day.
        City of Edmonton officials said there will be no ceremonies held at Edmonton Municipal Cemeteries on Friday,
        to allow those locations to serve as places for calm and quiet reflection.

        Calgary
        The service begins at 1030 hrs (10:30AM)

        Hours: On Remembrance Day, the Museum will be open after the service. Admission is Free.
        Parking: There will be limited parking available on site in the field to the east of the Parade Square. Parking is

        also available at the Flames Community Arena to the South. Note that access to TMM from the arena is
        through a pedestrian gate in the arena fence.

        Please dress warmly, and plan to arrive early as past events have been well attended. Containers will be
        provided for non-perishable food donations to the Veterans’ Food Bank.
