 • Our Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition continues to attract all stakeholders from technology experts, policy makers, regulators, academia, and service providers.
• Last year’s theme, Transitioning to a Digital Region – Opportunities and Challenges, enjoyed visibility during various speaking engagements and messages from the Secretariat.
• Through our improved public relations and social media presence, the Secretariat enjoys better communications with all stakeholders.
• The Secretariat recruited a remote social media expert to enhance the look and feel of our social media channels. This initiative continues to raise the social media presence of the organization and increase the number of followers on the various sites. The secretariat enjoyed an average of two posts per day on the various
sites leading up to the conference.
• Our Media/press/information kits have been updated to include a Membership Benefits Document, Current Publications, an Overview and event information flyers. Position Papers and project proposals are also included.
• We have continued to engage the youths in developing our social media platform and have completed a series of short videos for uploading on our website and other social media platforms. We worked closely with the youth in Suriname, Guyana and Curaçao to enhance the Gaming Zone at the 2019 Exhibition.
• Capacity Caribbean - Puerto Rico
On the invitation of Capacity Caribbean, the Secretary General attended and moderated a panel on “How is Regulation Enabling the Digital Economy across the Caribbean”. In addition to moderating the panel, the Secretary General used the opportunity to increase the awareness of CANTO within this stakeholder group; prospect companies for membership; prospect speakers for CANTOs events; build new/strengthening existing relationships.
