HOW TO EDIT PHOTOS
Editing is a HUGE part of photography. You can use apps in your phone like Lightroom and Facetune, or Photoshop.
Lightroom: You can adjust the colour of the photo, adjusting using the temperature scale balances out the colour if you need to. You can also use presets that will make your photos on your Instagram look uniform.
Facetune: This is almost like photoshop for amateurs. You can do so many different things on this app.
Photoshop: This is more advanced and what pro photographers use. Afterlight: You can use this to add colour effects to your images.
OTHER APPS & PROGRAMS
UNUM: Plan out what your feed will look like before you post your content.
Plann: This is another tool that you can use to plan out your feed as well as to schedule posts.Unfold: This
app will allow you to make beautiful Instagram stories.
Canva: This is the design app that you need in order to create a professional and cohesive online brand. You can create everything from logos to contracts on here.
INSTAGRAM 101
Strategy: You always want to be authentic. Post images of work that you are proud of. You always want to be consistent, but it’s always quality over quantity. Don’t just throw something up to post something that day. For me, Makeup by Mario follows me so I always think about what he would think when he sees the image. Think about your idols and what they would say about your work.
Show yourself: People want to get to know YOU. You are ultimately the face of your brand, and at the end of the day there are so many different people in beauty, and allow your followers and clients to get to know you. You can show things aside from makeup - show more about yourself.
Stop comparing yourself: Use other people as your motivation but
don’t get down on yourself if you aren’t at the same number of followers that someone else may be at. It’s a tough industry, so be happy for others, and know that everything in life that is meant to be for you will happen if it is meant to be.
