The purpose of this portfolio:


      The purpose of this portfolio is aimed at showing my experiences as a novice teacher and how I teach in
      class. Over the years of my studies I have grown to become a very inclusive and the most adapting teacher

      I have ever been. In the portfolio my lesson plans and assessments show that as a teacher I address
      modern  day  challenges  and  push  my  learners  to  become  critical  thinkers.  In  the  portfolio  I  show

      extensively  that  I  make  use  of  modern-day  tools  to  teach  my  subject  to  adapt  to  the  ever-changing

      technology. In this portfolio I show the roles that I play in the teaching and learning process and how I
      make informed decisions about how I intend to achieve various outcomes. I also show in my lesson plans

      that I always reflect on my teaching to improve and ensure that in future I come back with much more

      better learning opportunities. The portfolio also aims at showing that not only academic achievement is a
      priority, but we should always put learners at the center of learning. I believe as a teacher I should always

      help learners to achieve their goals.




      Audience of the portfolio

      The report is aimed at aspiring and novice educators. It shows the teachers that there is more than one

      way to facilitate the process. The portfolio can also be used as a tool for learners as it contains information

      that they can use in their studies. The portfolio can serve as a master guide to how one can do things
      through the term or year. The teacher can use this portfolio as a teaching resource for every year and

      adapt it through the years. The portfolio can also be used as a tool to use when seeking employment as
      it shows the philosophy of the teacher. A teacher can submit it to various schools and facilitators to share

      his samples with other educators. The portfolio can also be used as a tool of accomplishments and for

      seeking higher-level position in the work force. The school can also request the tool to see how the teacher
      has been performing and doing his work across the year. The school can also request all teachers to have

      a portfolio so that they can use them when they are collecting data about the progress of the school and
      how they should improve things in future.




      Context of the work integrated learning


      In my years of studying I have been to various schools in different parts of the country and I have learnt a

      lot  about  the  importance  of  context  in  education.  In  my  first  practical  experience  this  year  I  was  in
      Johannesburg CBD school. The schools in the city are struggling with things such as access to resources

      as  most  of  them  are  private  and  do  not  receive  government  funding.  Learners  are  mainly  taught  by
      teachers who are not qualified, and this hinders their learning process. In my second practical experiences

      I have also been to the same school I was in my first experience. My third experience I chose a town ship

      school  and  the  challenges  that  I  have  encountered  there  were  different  from  my  previous  school
