THE YELLOW BRIDGE OF SILUTE
Since ancient times, in the district of Silute there was Rusne island. People wishing to get to
Silute had to swim or boat through the river Šyša. But over the time, people were bored to swim,
sail boats and ships to take a trip to the town. So one peasant came up with an idea to build a bridge
that leads from Rusne to Silute over the river Šyša. The peasant built a solid, metal bridge. People
liked the bridge, because there was no need to sail through the Šyša by boat. But one day a miracle
happened! Rainbow appeared and yellow droplets began to fall from it. Those droplets painted the
bridge in yellow. So the bridge was named the yellow bridge of Silute. And up to now, people still
use this bridge.
