on March 31, 1968, he shocked the nation when he announced he would

          not run for re-election by concluding with the line: "I shall not seek, and I
          will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your
          President."

          One has to ask, throughout American history, what would be considered

          an accomplishment or what is it Conservatives are most proud of,
          declaring their secession from the US, attacking the north and losing the
          deadliest war in US history over racism, assassinating President Lincoln,
          the KKK, the Great Depression, Jim Crow Law, segregation or the

          assassination of JFK and MLK Jr.?  And, next we have “Watergate”.  The
          Technology Boom was the best economy in US History; however, George
          W. Bush set us back even more than The Great Depression and The US is
          no longer one of the most powerful or richest Countries in the World.


          Some people believe, Lief Erickson’s purpose of his discovery of The

          Americas was to have a better life for his family and to bring Christianity
          to the people they encounter during their voyages.  Some believe

          Christopher Columbus wanted to be free from Communism, a land to have

          a better life.  What we do know is the Declaration of Independence signed
          on July 4, 1776, states “…that all men are created equal, that they are

          endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among

          these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

          By 1890 American industrial production and per capita income exceeded

          those of all other world nations.  An unprecedented wave of immigration

          from Europe served to both provide the labor for American industry and
          create diverse communities in previously undeveloped areas.  From 1880

          to 1914, peak years of immigration, more than 22 million people migrated
          to the United States.


          This is The United States of America and what our country fought for,

          reasons why we stand during the National Anthem and Pledge of

          Allegiance, but our Country has always been divided over racism and
          bigotry.  When the South seceded and laws created during a time when the

          KKK was most popular and segregation was legal, it is only right to kneel.
