National Technical Honor Society Serves the Community

For the past four years, DMTC’s chapter of National
Technical Honor Society has supported Spartanburg
High School Student Council’s Thanksgiving Drive,
which aims to provide local folks in need with
Thanksgiving meals. NTHS co-president Kirby Helms
joins fellow members Bryson Wise-Furtek, Auskin
Barrera-Corral, and Cendy Cruz Lopez in assembling
Thanksgiving bags that will be delivered to local fam-
ilies. Each bag contains all the elements of a tradi-
         tional Thanksgiving meal.

In addition, NTHS recently conducted its annual
Christmas service project. The club partners with
DSS to identify local children in need and provide
them with clothes and gifts for Christmas. NTHS
club members, as well as some faculty and staff,
came together to make this project a success. Be-
tween the club and other participants, seven chil-
dren were sponsored this year. Jaionna Pearson,
NTHS president, Kemper Nix, and Ava Batson
helped pack and load the gifts.

DMTC Students Provide Warmth for Others

The Employability Skills students helped collect and
make tie blankets for the Miracle Hill Ministries cold
weather shelter. People in need in the community will
be able to use and keep the blankets when they stay at
the shelter this winter season. We love seeing our stu-
dents help with such worthy causes and community
         needs.
