The success at the Chelsea Flower Show is
not just a testament to the country’s rich
floral heritage, but also a celebration of the
collaborative spirit that brought this project
to fruition. After the withdrawal of a three-
decade-long sponsorship, a coalition of

private sector leaders, conservationists, and
botanical enthusiasts, including Kluge, Keith
Kirsten, and Michael Lutzeyer, stepped up to
ensure that South Africa’s floral splendour
was once again showcased on the
international stage. This initiative received
significant backing from entities like the

Rupert Nature Foundation and Grootbos
Private Nature Reserve, highlighting a strong
commitment to promoting and preserving
the nation’s botanical treasures.
