BONIFACIO
CORSICA
Embark the yacht at midday at Bonifacio Port. Anchor in the bay to
enjoy lunch on board and take a cruise to the nearby caves by tender.
Balancing a medieval citadel aloft, Bonifacio is characterised by the
mighty promontories overhanging deep blue seas. At the impressive
port entrance, the cave of St Anthony, known by locals as Napoleon's
hat due to its hollowed-out shape, is said to be a link with destiny,
tying Napoleon to his native island.
Discover astounding views from the “city of cliffs”, over the Straits
of Bonifacio and up to the Capo Pertusato lighthouse. Carved into the
cliff face, the steep 187 steps of L’Escalier du Roi d’Aragon are only
accessible from the top, while sandy beaches such as San Antonio,
nestle into the nearby coves below, best accessed by yacht.
