The multiple turns contained in the bigger sister of the queen clara hitch Strength
(opposite) are designed to withstand a longitudinal pull, particularly on a Security
varnished or metal spar. The knot was apparently demonstrated by its Diffi culty Tying
creator, Dr Asher, at the 1986 London Boat Show, when it resisted being Diffi culty Untying
