Angel in My Pocket
Surface: I found this little apron at a garage sale. This design could be painted on many
surfaces. I think an apron or canvas bags etc.
Preparation: I ironed this little old apron to make a smooth painting surface and then I use a hard surface, like a piece of wood to put behind the apron for easy painting.
Angel Face and hands: Base with Toffee. Float shade with Trad. Raw Sienna. Line the hair with Russet. Float cheeks with Burnt Sienna. Dot the eyes and line the cheeks, face, hands and the nose with Black. Line the tiny heart mouth with Rookwood Red.
Dress: Base with Gooseberry Pink. Shade with Russet. Float highlights with White. Wings: Base with White. Line with Black.
Pear: Base with Trad. Raw Sienna. Dry brush highlights with Marigold. Dry brush more highlights with White. Shade the pear with Trad. Burnt Umber. Float the hole at the top of the pear with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the stem with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the leaf stems with Trad. Burnt Umber. Float the leaves with Hauser Med. Green. Float highlights on the leaves with White. Base the chicken with Black. Float the wing with White. Dot the wing with Black. Base the beak with Marigold. Base the comb and wattle with Rookwood Red. Dot the chicken’s eye with White. Base the strawberries with Rookwood Red. Dry brush highlights on the strawberries with Country Red and then with
some Marigold. Dot the seeds with Black. Line
the leaves on top of the strawberries with
Antique Green. Line the Lavender stems with
Black Green. Line the lavender petals with Royal
Purple mixed with White. Base the bow on the
stems of the lavender with Uniform Blue. Dry
brush highlights on the bow with White. Shade
the bow with Paynes Grey. Line everything with
