Sweet Kindness Surface: Unbleached muslin and card stock.
Preparation: Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1⁄2 by 11 inches. Cover the card stock with Glue. I like
Elmer’s glue. Carefully lay a piece of unbleached muslin over the cardstock and rub it down, until it seals. Let dry.
Basecoat the muslin with Gooseberry Pink mixed with White about 1 to 1.
Supplies: Unbleached muslin and card stock. Elmer’s Glue, Deco Art matte sealer finisher spray. Deco Art Glamour dust, crystal DAS37. Glamour dust glitter paint, DGD10 Celebration
Pink
Trace your design on to your surface and now it is time to start painting. Line the stitching around the angel on the background, with Black. Dry brush in between the stitching with White. Float shade around the stitched area with Russet. Dry brush little circles on the area outside the stitching with Rookwood Red, very lightly.
Angel face, hands and Feet: Base with Toffee. Shade very lightly with Trad. Burnt Umber. Dry brush her cheeks with Rookwood Red. Float Shade her hair with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line her hair with Marigold and highlight a little more with White.
Dress: Base with White. Float the pink stripe band on the dress with wash of Gooseberry Pink. Float the stripes below the pink band with Periwinkle. Base the dots on the under dress with Marigold. Float the dots a little with Traditional Raw Sienna. Line the plaid with White. Float the areas between the plaid lines with Marigold. On the second pocket, line the Plaid lines with Trad. Raw Sienna. . On the third pocket Line the plaid lines with Periwinkle. Base the bird in the pocket with Uniform Blue. Dry brush with White. Line the beak with Trad. Raw Sienna. Dry brush the bird’s cheek with Rookwood Red. Dot the eye with Black. Line the stems of the flowers with Black Green. Base little circles with Mauve and dot around the circles with White. Dot the centers of the flowers with Marigold. Line the seed book with Trad. Burnt Umber.
Float the seed book with Trad. Burnt Umber. Base the flower on the book with Royal Purple. Dot the buttons on the front of her dress with Black. Line the Bow on the back of her dress with White. Line the white bow with Black. Line her twig wings with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the leaves on the twigs with Hauser Medium Green. Dot white dots on the vines.
Watering Can: Base with Slate Grey. Shade with Trad. Burnt Umber. Base the inside of the watering can with Black. Line white stripes on the top of the can and at the bottom of the can. Dab a little Marigold and a little Royal Purple on the can so it looks like tin. Dry brush the background around the can’s spout with Russet. Dot dots on the spout with Black. Now line little white lines and dot the lines for the water.
Sweet Kindness: Line the lettering with Black.
