Happy New Year
Surface: I found this piece of slate. (The slate is easy to find, usually at a craft store) It may
be already painted on, but just paint over it. I try to find things on sale and then I paint over the items.
Preparation: Base the slate with Black. Base over the black in the center area with Antique Maroon.
Supplies: Deco Art matte sealer finisher spray
Trace your design on to your surface and now it is time to start painting !!
Angel Face, neck, hands, and feet: Base with Toffee. Float shade her hair with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line Marigold through her hair. Line her tiny heart mouth with Rookwood Red. Dot her halo with White
Wings: Base with Khaki Tan. Float shade with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the x’s and the wings with Black.
Dress: Base with White. Float shade with Trad. Raw Sienna. Dot the buttons down the front of her dress with Black. Base her flower band around her waist with Marigold. Float shade the band with Trad. Raw Sienna. Base the petals around the flower with White. Base the center of the flower with Marigold and then line swirl in flower with Burnt Sienna.
Grass: Float the grass with Antique Green. Line the fences with Trad. Burnt Umber.
House: Base with Uniform Blue. Shade with Paynes Grey. Line the door with White. Line the window in the door with White. Line the panes in the window with Black. Line the windows in the house with Black. Line the panes in the windows with Black. Base the roof with Burnt Sienna. Line a little white on the roof. Line the chimneys with Black.
Crow: Base with Black. Line his stand with Black. Base the star with Traditional Raw Sienna. Line the string on the star with Black.
Hope wreath: Line the wreath with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line HOPE with Black.
Pineapple: Base with Marigold. Shade with Trad. Raw Sienna. Line the pineapple with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the leaves at the top of the pineapple with Black Green.
Tree: Line with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the leaves on the tree with Black Green.
Sheep: Base the body with Khaki Tan. Dab with White. Line the face ear and legs with Black
Moon: Base with Trad. Raw Sienna. Shade with Trad. Burnt Umber. Dab the sheep’s body with White. Lightly shade the body with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the face and the ear and the legs and the tail with Black. Line the HAPPY NEW YEAR with White. Line little twinkle stars around the moon with Lt. French Blue.
Finishing touches: Spray the painting with Deco Art matte sealer finisher.
