Goodnight
Surface: I found this wood horse at a garage sale and painted over him. I have a pattern for
him in this book if you wanted to cut him out. I think the horse just painted on a surface would be nice also. Just enlarge or reduce your designs to fit your surfaces.
Preparation: Basecoat the horse with Lt. French Blue and then sand the edges making him look old and worn. I tied a lot of twine together and glued for his tail.
Supplies: Deco Art matte sealer finisher spray. A piece of tea stained cheese cloth. A shipping tag.
Trace your design on to your surface and now it is time to start painting !
Horse: Line the eye with Black. Dot the eye with White. Dry brush little circles where you will paint the stars with Uniform Blue. Line the little stars with White. Lightly dry brush the horse’s body with White.
Angel’s face hands and feet: Base with Toffee. Shade with Trad. Raw Sienna. Dry brush her cheeks with Rookwood Red. Line her eyes with Black. Float her hair with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line lines of Marigold through her hair and line a few lines with White. Line the stripes on her legs with Rookwood Red.
Angel Dress: Base with Buttermilk. Dry brush the dress a little with White. Float the apron with White. Float the stripes on the apron with Rookwood Red. Float and line the scallops on the bottom of the apron with White Line the bow with White and then line again with Black. Base the flower petals with White. Dot the centers of the flowers with Marigold. Line the cuffs on the arms of her dress with White. Line the stitching on
the hem of the dress with Black. Line sweet dreams on to her dress with black micron pen.
Moon and bunny: Base the moon with Trad. Raw Sienna. Shade with Trad. Burnt Umber and highlight the moon with Marigold. Base the bunny with Toffee. Dry brush the cheeks with Rookwood Red and dot the eyes and line with Black.
Goodnight Tag: With a damp cloth, rub Trad. Raw Sienna over the tag and then dry brush with some Lt. French Blue. Base the moon with Marigold. Dry brush the moon a little with White. Line Goodnight with Black and line the stitching around the tag and around the moon with Black. Line the tiny white stars with White.
Finishing T ouches: Lightly spatter the horse and tag
with Black. Spray with Deco Art matte sealer finisher. Tie some tea stained cheese cloth around Goodnight’s neck and then tie the tag on to the cheese cloth.
