Surface: Fabric! I love painting on to fabric. I found this old fabric covered container. I think
it was for knitting or sewing supplies. I think it is nice for books, also. I don’t use fabric paint. I just use the Americana Acrylics. They work really well for me. I just slow down my strokes of paint and load extra paint on to my brush for a nice smooth edge.
Preparation: Trace your design on to the surface and now it is time to start painting!
Angel face and neck. Base with Toffee. Float shade with Trad. Raw Sienna. Dry brush her cheeks with Rookwood Red. Line her eyes and face with Black. Line the stitching for her nose with Black. Line her tiny little heart mouth with Rookwood Red. Float her hair with Russet. Line highlights with Margold. Line the halo on her head with Black. Line the leaves on the halo with Antique Green mixed with White.
Wings. Base with Warm White. Float shade with Khaki Tan. Dry brush the little flowers with Mauve. Line the stems and the leaves on the flowers with Black Green.
Dress: Base with Buttermilk. Float shade with Khaki Tan. Line the stripe at the bottom of the dress with Mauve. Base the pot with Terra Cotta. Shade the pot with Russet. Highlight the pot with Burnt Orange. Line the flower stems with Black Green. Base the little flowers with White and then line the swirls on the left one with Marigold. Base the petals on the next one with White and base the center with Marigold. Line swirls on the third small one with Rookwood Red. Base the large flower with Rookwood Red. Base the little flower inside of the Red Flower with Mauve. Line with Black. Dab the sheep’s body with White. Base the head and ear with Black. Dot the eye with White. Line the garland
around the sheep’s neck with Trad. Burnt Umber. Line the leaves with Black Green and dot the berries with Rookwood Red. Base the little doily on the sheep’s back with Gooseberry Pink. Line the scallops around the doily with Russet. Base the crow and line the sheep’s tail and legs with Black. Line the string in the crow’s beak with Black. Dot the crow’s eye with White. Line the tiny heart on the string with Rookwood Red. Line FOREVER with Black.
Love heart: Base with Shale Green. Shade with Trad. Burnt Umber. Dry brush the area at the top of the heart and the bottom of the heart with White. Line the stitching and LOVE with Black. Base the flower with Mauve. Shade with Russet. Base the leaves and the stem with Black Green. Dry brush with Antique Green. Base the center of the flower with Marigold and line plaid lines with White. Line the stitching on the heart and line the heart with Black.
