Mama was always a benevolent man, always willing to help the underprivileged and needy. His humility and humanitarianism are amicable qualities that we should all try to emulate in our lives.
Uma
He was more like a big brother than an uncle, and I never hesitated to turn to him for advice. He always trusted me and was there to do whatever I asked of him; of course never without a lawyer’s critique.

I had my first driving lesson from Mama when I was 15; he taught me rights from wrongs and so much more.
He gave our children their first feed of rice (sorrutheethal) as babies.
And decades later, he blessed them at their weddings, with the auspicious cracking open of the coconut. This was an honour he humbly accepted and is cherished by us all.
A wise and loyal man, Mama travelled the moral high road and has set the bar so high that there is much work for those of us left to follow his lead!
Lala
Mama was the most genuine and loving mentor, friend and an adopted father. He taught me the intricacies of Sri Lankan cuisine. The loss of Mama together with the passing away of my mother last year is a huge and sad loss for me.
Dharshy
We kept in contact and exchanged valuable advice until his last days. Though words, however gentle, cannot take away this loss, fond memories will provide me comfort to ease my grief.
