Our favourite Mama, Chithappa,
We saw him with our parents as a father figure, we saw him with our children on the dance floor and so we thought he will live forever!
And he will...in our hearts always.

He was virtually a child to our mother and a big brother to us all. A charismatic personality and a carefree man who never waned in his support or love for his extended family.
A true master of ceremonies, he would never miss a function, no matter where it was in the world. He was at every special occasion from hosting Wickii’s and Ruby’s first visit to England as newlyweds, to Shankar’s 21st. And this continued right to the end with his surprise visit to Amma’s 90th in April 2011 where he played the miruthangam for us all.

For each one of us, as we began our new and unfamiliar life abroad in the UK, Ganesh Mama extended his hospitality and kindness by offering a shoulder to lean on and a place to stay. We are truly thankful for the compassion and generosity which he offered to us all.
For Mama, there was no distinction between family, charity, work or politics.
