This set of two vintage beech wood bu er paddles/pats
are each covered with narrow ridges on one side.
Designed originally for use in bu er making, they will
create decora vely ridged bu er balls by placing a
small lump of cold bu er between the two paddles and

rubbing together in a circular mo on. The paddles are
also used by pastry chefs to create decora ve pa erns
in various foods and desserts. Great also for making

gnocchi as the ridges in the dough help the pasta hold
the sauce. Since the wood is unbleached and
untreated, the paddles will darken to a golden hue as
the fats from the bu er enrich the surface.
