Here is a sample of an actual letter a parent sent to their camper.

This letter encourages the camper to try, to experience new things, to find
the good and to be proud of their accomplishments – all very supportive.

Nothing major happening on the home front (if something does happen, it
might be a good idea to wait with the news until you can be there with them
        after camp). No heartsick loneliness.
Remember – camp is helping your child practice the independence they will
need when wonderful new opportunities are available out in the real world.
Will there be ups and downs? You bet. That’s where the real learning will
happen. You will be able to rest a little easier knowing they practiced at
camp and have a skill-set that will serve them well when you are not right
      there to guide them.
