STATUS OF WOMEN CONFERENCE

2017

CHICAGO, October 21, 2017—The Lincoln Park
Chicago (LPCC) Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction
hosted Unleash the Power Within You the 2nd annual
empowerment conference put together BY women FOR
women who are interested in bettering their lives. The
day-long conference was held Saturday, October 21,
2017.
The LPCC SOW committee hosted the conference
which consisted of a series of mini-workshops, a
complimentary breakfast, lunch, and raffle drawings.
Highlights from several of the workshops included:
Our Keynote Speaker for the conference was Irika
Sargent, news anchor for CBS affiliate WBBM, Chicago,
IL. Ms. Sargent shared her incredible life experiences
with the audience. She shared her road to success, the
barriers she encountered and how she ultimately landed
on top.
Shree Franklin delivered an insightful vision on
strengthening your intuitive muscle.
Dr. Frank Vaught, a health and nutrition expert who
shared secrets to decreasing stress naturally. He
discussed nutritional secrets that help thrive beyond
current health disparities and actions that help break
through barriers that prevents us from reaching our
goals.
In “Peeling the Onion” Dee Dee Osobor, Director of
Open Door Prison Ministry at Apostolic Faith Church
discussed how the layers of issues in one's life that
have not have been addressed can cause stagnation,
procrastination and paralysis until resolved. She
shared tools to apply to your life to move forward to a
productive future!
The day culminated with an “Unleashing Your Power
with a Vision Board” by Charlotte Taylor, author, speaker
and consultant. Participants learned how to make a
vision board to help focus on goals and turn dreams into
a reality. Charlotte, who reached her goal to lose over
100lbs, is walking proof of the power of this tactic. Her
presentation was received with excitement, energy and
enthusiasm!
In addition to the workshops, the conference attendees
were provided with screenings from our Walgreens
partner and its affiliate Access Grand Boulevard Clinic.
The Lincoln Park Chicago Chapter’s Women’s
conference was an astounding success. Our goal was
to impact, improve and enrich the lives of the women in
our communities. We far exceeding our goal….mission
accomplished!!!
