Health systems absorb universal risk and accordingly prioritize lowering patient cost over everything else. Health systems are paid a flat fee per patient and profit according to their ability to keep patient costs down. Although mindfulness has been proven to decrease costs, insurance companies generally decline to pay for yoga or meditation studios. This is likely due to the neces- sary vetting process. There are many quality studios out there, but it would require intensive reform and vetting to discern the professionally structured studios from the others—some yoga studios even employ goats!
Lightflow is different. It is mobile, accessible, and quantifiable. Healthcare providers can learn from Animatra which users employed what overlay for how long at what strength—a level of detailed records that health systems and meditation studios could only dream of.
