Big Sister of the Year:

Kate Sanborn

Kate decided to volunteer at BBBS because
she has known other Bigs who really
enjoyed volunteering. She also enjoys
hanging out with her neices and nephew
so she thought this would be a perfect
opportunity. She believes mentoring is all
about having fun and introducing Cherie to
n
new things.ew things. She loves being a Big Sister
because she and Cherie enjoy doing a lot
of the same things. This makes the
experience very enjoyable for her.

Kate&Cherie

Kate and Cherie have been matched since ate and Cherie have been matched since March
K
2015. Over the past 2 years together they have gone
to Splash Universe, went horse back riding, attended
college sports events, and much more. They really
enjoy going on Kate’s pontoon boat and eating
flaming cheese! One of Kate’s favorite memories with
Cherie was watching her stand up and speak at the
BBBS fundraising breakfast. Kate describes Cherie as BBS fundraising breakfast. Kate describes Cherie as

confident, smart, and easy going. Kate says she knows
Cherie “...will have a great future and I will do
whatever she needs to help her get there!”
