DI - 276 Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts
Failure phenomenon Phenomenon description
While turning the ignition switch to "ON" position, the brake
Two side brake lamps always on lamps at two sides maintain be lit whether the brake pedal is
stepped or not.
Diagnosis procedure
1. Check the brake lamp switch
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the connector B003 of brake lamp switch.
c. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between 1#
and 2# terminals of brake lamp switch connector B003.
Standard resistance:
Multimeter
Condition Standard value
connection
Step down the braking
1-2 Conductive
pedal
Accelerator pedal not
1-2 Conduction
stepped down
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 2.
NO>replace the brake lamp switch.
2. Check if the harness is short to the power supply
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the connector H012 of left rear combination lamp and connector H011 of right rear combination
lamp.
c. Ignition switch: ON, release the brake pedal.
d. Measure the voltage between the rear left combination
lamp connector H012 terminal 3 and the ground as well as
that between the rear right combination lamp connector
H011 terminal 3 and the ground with the multimeter in
voltage gear.
Standard voltage:
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
H012(3)- grounding Ground battery voltage
H010(3)- grounding Ground battery voltage
Is the test result ok?
Yes>go to Step 3.
NO>repair or replace the harness short to the power supply.
