Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts DI - 271
Check if the result is ok? IN
Yes>go to Step 3.
No > check the open-circuit wire harness between body controller and brake lamp fuse. DI
3. Check the power circuit of left and right brake lamp.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK. EG
b. Disconnect the connector H012 of left rear combination lamp.
c. Disconnect the connector H011 of right rear combination lamp.

d. Ignition switch: ON, while stepping down the brake pedal, the brake lamp switch is closed.
e. Measure the voltage between the rear left combination

lamp connector H012 terminal 3 and the ground as well as
that between the rear right combination lamp connector
H011 terminal 3 and the ground with the multimeter in FR
voltage gear.
Standard voltage: ST
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
H012(3)- grounding Storage battery voltage BR
H011(3)- grounding Storage battery voltage
Check if the result is ok? BW
Yes>go to Step 4.
No > check whether the brake lamp bulb is damaged or check whether the signal circuit between body EL
controller and brake lamp is connected.
4. Check the earth circuit of brake lamp.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the connector H012 of left rear combination lamp.
c. Disconnect the connector H011 of right rear combination lamp.
d. Measure the voltage between the rear left combination
lamp connector H012 terminal 1 and the ground as well as
that between the rear right combination lamp connector
H011 terminal 1 and the ground with the multimeter in
voltage gear.
Standard voltage:
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
H012(1)- grounding About 0Ω
H011(1)- grounding About 0Ω
Is the test result ok?
Yes>go to Step 5.
No > Repair or replace the relevant earthing open-circuit wire harness.
