Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts DI - 329
Diagnosis procedure IN
1. Check the coolant temperature sensor.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK. DI
b. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector A003.
Danger EG
The coolant temperature sensor shall be dismantled in cold state (or coolant temperature ≤40℃).
TR
c. Use a multimeter to resistance of coolant temperature sensor at different coolant temperature. Its reference
value shall be as shown in the table below.
Temperature (℃) 40 60 90 102 AX
Resistance (Ω) 287.4±30 134±13.5 51.2±4.3 38.5±1
FR
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 2.
ST
No > repair or replace the coolant temperature sensor.
2. Check the coolant temperature sensor circuit.
BR
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Respectively disconnect the engine ECU connectors A001 adn coolant temperature sensor connectors BW
A003.
c. Use a multimeter to respectively measure the resistance
EL
between 46# and 43# terminals of engine ECU connector
A001 and between 1# and 2# terminals of coolant
temperature sensor connector.
Standard resistance:
Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
A001(46)-A003(1) About 0Ω
A001(43)-A003(2) About 0Ω
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 3.
NO>repair or replace the harness.
3. Check the combination switch
Caution
If the combination instrument is broken, normally non-professional personnel cannot check and repair
precisely. At present often using the substitution judgment method for service.
a. Replace with a new or normal combination instrument.
b. Connect the circuit, restart the ignition switch and check if the failure is fixed.
