Wheel and tire fault IN
Overview
1. Wheels and tyres are the driving parts and installed on the axle.. Basic functions as follows: DI
● Supprt the vehicle, undertake the gravity of vehicle to enable it take load.
● Transmit driving force, steering force and braking force to realize the manipulation of vehicle. EG
● Reduce driving resistance and energy consumption.
● Relax driving impact and improve loading condition. TR
2. When changing the wheel, select the wheel with the same loading capacity, size and type
Inconformity of wheel sizes and types will impact the life of wheels and bearings, cooling of brake, AX
precision of speedometer/odometer, clearance of body from ground, clearance of tyres from body and
chassis, etc.
FR
Conditions for wheel replacement:
● Wheel bent or dented.
ST
● Wheel radial runout too big.
● Air leaks from the welding seam at the wheel.
BR
● Wheel nut cannot be tightened.
● Wheel seriously rusted. BW
3. The tyre is the final executor of most operating commands. It not only undertakes the weight of body,
transfers the driving and braking force to ground, keeps the drving direction, but also eliminates road EL
shock to improve the comfort of passengers. High quality tyres can also reduce rolloing resistance to
improve the efficiency of oil consumption. The spare tyre is for emergency use when the wheel fails.
After the failure is eliminated, the normal tyre shall be installed timely. Correct tyre pressure is critical
for the vehicle to maintain good performance, controllability and driving economy. Regularly check the
tyre pressure. Improper tyre inflation can impact the vehicle performance and cause the following
consequences:
● Fuel efficiency reduces.
● Tyre overloaded.
● Tyre life reduces.
● Tyre worn getting worse.
● Tyre worn not evenly.
● Poor vehicle control ability.
● Riding comfort reduced.
