DIAGNOSIS-REAR WINDOW DEFROSTING SYSTEM 62-189

(c). Check whether the rear window relay R01
performs well with the multimeter on the
resistance range.
Standard resistance:

Connect by Specified 62
Conditions
multimeter value
normal 85 - 86 Exist

Apply the power
supply voltage
between the No. 30 - 87 ＜ 2 Ω
86 and No.85
pin
Is the result normal?
Yes>To step 4.
No >Replace the rear window defroster relay.

4. Check the harness and the connector (rear window defroster relay-rear window
defroster)

(a). Disconnect the battery negative cable.
(b). Pull out the rear window defroster relay R01 in the indoor fuse box.
(c). Disconnect the connector M08 of the rear window defroster .

(d). Measure the resistance with the multimeter
on the resistance range.
Standard resistance: (check whether there
is a short circuit)

Connect by Standard value
multimeter

M08 (1) - R1(30) ＜ 2 Ω

Is the result normal?
Yes>To step5.
No >Repair or replace the harness.

5. Check the harness and the connector (rear window defroster-grounding)

(a). Ignition switch:"ON".
(b). Disconnect the connector M09 of the rear window defroster.
