DIAGNOSTICS - ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM 04-175
(a) Ignition switch: OFF.
(b) Disconnect the battery negative cable.
(c) Disconnect connector E02 of crankshaft position sensor.
(d) Disconnect connector E01 of ECM.
(e) Use a multimeter to measure the resistance
between the pin 2, 3 of crankshaft position 04
sensor connector E02 and the pin 14, 38 of
ECM connector E01 respectively.
Standard resistance
Multimeter connection
Standard value

E02（2）- E01（14） ＜10 Ω
E02（3）- E01（38） ＜10 Ω
(f) Use a multimeter to measure the resistance
between the pin 2, 3 of crankshaft position
sensor connector E02 and the ground
respectively.

E02（2）- ground ＞ 10 MΩ
E02（3）- ground ＞ 10 MΩ
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>To step 4.
No > Maintain or replace the harness.
4 . Replace the crankshaft position sensor
(a) Replace the crankshaft position sensor.
(b) Use a diagnostic apparatus to perform DTC verification procedures.
(c) Implement the steps to read sensor data stream.
(d) Check whether DTC exists.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES>Replace crankshaft position sensor
NO >To step 5.
