11-18 ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - ELECTRONIC THROTTLE

ELECTRONIC THROTTLE
HOW IT WORKS
The engine control module (ECM) uses an electronic
throttle to determine whether the actuator conforms
to the instruction position. ECM provides the 5V
power to the signal circuit of the throttle position
actuator, and the electronic throttle outputs the
voltage signal to the ECM according to the actuator
position. ECM converts this signal into percentages:
0 to 100%, indicating the position of the actuator.
The actuator is fully open, equivalent to 100%.
