51 (c) Tighten the retaining nuts of the steering
wheel.
Torque: 30.6 ~ 37.4 N•m

7 . Check the Steering Wheel Force
(a) When the engine is off and measure the
steering wheel force by pulling the outer edge
of the steering wheel laterally with spring
balance.
Steering wheel force (engine off): < 200N
If the steering wheel force exceeds the limit,
check related parts and components. (Refer

to “Chapter 51. Steering system - steering

system, defects”)

CAUTION
Measure the steering wheel by turning it 80° from
the central position on both sides.

8 . Install the Horn Button Assembly

(a) Connect the airbag harness connector.
WARNING

• Never use any SRS part removed from

another vehicle. If replacement is required,
V
be sure to use new spare parts.
• If the horn button assembly has been
dropped, or there are cracks, dents or
ftwx621009 other faults on the housing, replace it with
a new one.
• Do not drag the airbag harness and make
sure there is no constraint between the
harness and the nearby parts.

CAUTION

If hear a click, the connector is connected
completely.
