62-14 SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM - CLOCK SPRING

CLOCK SPRING

REPLACEMENT
1 . Precaution. (Refer to “Chapter 62. Supplemental restraint system - supplemental

restraint system, precaution”)
2 . Disconnect battery negative cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
62
replacement")
3 . Disconnect battery positive cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
replacement")
4 . Remove the horn button assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 62. Supplemental restraint
system - horn button assembly, replacement”)
5 . Remove the steering wheel assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering column
- steering wheel assy, overhaul”)
6 . Remove the combination switch upper cover. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering

column - combination switch assy, replacement”)
7 . Remove the combination switch lower cover. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering
column - combination switch assy, replacement”)

8 . Remove the clock spring.
(a) Disconnect connectors:
• Disconnect the horn harness
connector.
• Disconnect the airbag harness
connector.

(b) Carefully release the small latch and remove
the clock spring.
