62-16 SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM - CLOCK SPRING

(e) Install a new clock spring.

CAUTION
For the new clock spring:

• It is located at the center position by a
positioning clamp. So no central alignment

is necessary.
• Once installed, remember to remove the
clamp.

13 . Install the steering wheel assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 51. Steering column -
steering wheel assy, overhaul”)
14 . Install the horn button assembly. (Refer to “Chapter 62. Supplemental restraint

system - horn button assembly, replacement”)
15 . Connect battery positive cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
replacement")
16 . Connect battery negative cable. (Refer to "Chapter 20. Start & charge - battery,
replacement")
17 . Check air bag indicator lamp. (If equipped, refer to “Chapter 04. Diagnosis -
airbag system, pre-check”, “Chapter 04. Diagnosis - airbag system, airbag
indicator lamp always on”, “Chapter 04. Diagnosis - airbag system, airbag
indicator lamp always off”)
