Description

1 . An exhaust pressure sensor is used to measure the exhaust pressure of the
exhaust manifold.The engine control module (ECM) uses this information to
control the operation of the emissions and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
valves.The ECM provides a 5 volt power supply to the exhaust pressure sensor
through the sensor power circuit.The ECM also provides a ground to the sensor
circuit.The exhaust pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM through the
exhaust pressure sensor signal circuit.The signal voltage of the sensor will vary
depending on the pressure of the exhaust manifold.
