           Description
1 . The engine control module (ECM) uses the EGR pressure differential sensor
readings to determine the amount of exhaust flowing through the EGR connection
pipe to the intake manifold. The EGR differential pressure sensor uses two
exhaust ports to measure the pressure drop which flows through the EGR
pressure differential orifice. The sensor outputs a voltage that represents the
pressure difference between two ports, then the ECM associates the voltage
with the EGR flow rate. This information is used to control the EGR valve to
                  achieve the correct emission level.
2 . The ECM provides a 5 volt power supply to the EGR differential pressure sensor
through the sensor power circuit. The ECM also provides a ground to the sensor
circuit. The EGR differential pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM
through the EGR pressure differential sensor signal circuit. The signal voltage
of the sensor will vary according to the pressure difference of cross-under pipe.
