                          Emily  Booth  Langworthy,  for  whom  George  composed  the
                          above poem, was the daughter of the radical Baptist missionary
                          Joseph  Booth,  an  early  inspiration  and  mentor  to  John
                          Chilembwe. George Shepperson also wrote the introduction to
                          Emily  Booth  Langworthy’s  too  often  overlooked  little  book,
                          This  Africa  was  Mine,  pub.  Stirling  Tract  Enterprise,  1952,
                          which  describes  her  life  as  a  child  in  British  Central  Africa
                          when a young John Chilembwe became her carer.
