Janet Jackson Kicks Off Tour In Vancouver
A newly demure Janet Jackson started her “Un- breakable World Tour” at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Colombia on Monday night. She was dressed in white and covered, like her dancers and musicians, from shoulders to shoes.
It has been four years since Ms. Jackson toured, and seven since she released a stu- dio album; she has announced the impending release of a new one, “Unbreakable.”
Her Vancouver concert in- cluded three unreleased songs and the insinuating “No Sleeep,” the first single from “Unbreakable.” The concert’s finale, a ballad with Motown roots, was presumably the album’s title song; it praised enduring love, announcing, “It’s unbreakable.”
In Vancouver, her “Un- breakable” tour set arrived as medleys that touched on as many hits as possible, grouping the songs by persona and tempo.
Janet Jackson on tour for the first time in 4 years.
She also established her hip-hop connections. The opening song, a new one about D.J.s and dancing, had Missy Elliott rapping (on video) in praise of Ms. Jackson, and Ms. Jackson’s “Any Time, Any Place” was updated with a bit of Kendrick Lamar’s “Po- etic Justice,” which had sam- pled “Any Time, Any Place.” J. Cole, also on video, rapped on ‘No Sleeep’.
Fresh from the film’s ground breaking success in the U.S. on Tuesday, Ice Cube and his son, O’Shea Jackson Jr. – who portrays him in the film -- attended the Australian pre- miere of Straight Outta Comp- ton at Sydney’s Hoyts EQ.
Cube, Sr. and Jr., kicked off the new season of movie premieres as they took over Sydney’s Entertainment Quar- ter. 'Straight Outta Compton’ is currently a box office hit overseas.
Perfectly organized by Uni- versal Pictures and Hoyts, the red carpet welcomed local celebrities, a select group of media representatives, and a good number of fans who got there early in order to catch a glimpse of the legendary rap- per and his son – a rising star in his own right.
Ice Cube, hip hop icon gra- ciously posed for photogra- phers before getting close to his fans, posing for pictures and even signing a skateboard. All of this took place right before a round of interviews, in which he proved his friendliness and humility, despite his long and illustrious career. And his son was equally impressive; the pair made it clear that they are extremely grateful to their fans for the film’s success.
O’Shea Jackson, Jr. (Baby Ice Cube) and his dad, O’Shea Jackson, Sr. aka Ice Cube walked the Red Carpet in Syd- ney, Australia for premiere of ‘Straight Outta Compton’ on Tuesday.
Straight Outta Compton
stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, and is di- rected by F. Gary Gray (Fri- day, Set It Off, The Italian Job). The drama is produced by original N.W.A members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Tomica Woods-Wright, Matt Alvarez, Gray and Scott Bernstein. St. Peters- burg native and FAMU gradu- ate, Will Packer was executive producer of the film.
Ne-Yo and his new wife, Crystal are expecting a baby.
Ne-Yo is officially off the market.
In a slew of social media posts, Ne-Yo and his new wife, model Crystal Renae, have tied the knot AND are expect- ing a bundle of joy.
The music mogul posted a photo of Renay holding a pic- ture of Ne-Yo cuddling her stomach, with the caption “Sur- prise!!!!!!”
However, not everyone is happy of the news. Ne-Yo’s so- cial media announcement was met with comments giving sympathy for the singer’s ex-fi- ancee Monyetta Shaw, with whom he shares two kids with, daughter Maddie, 4, and son, Mason, 3. Shaw is a cast member on Atlanta Exes, which she revealed Ne-Yo suggested she get her tubes tied after not wanting any more children, then broke up with her shortly after, hindering her ability to have more children if she meets someone else.
He wrote a reply on his so- cial media pages: “No matter what they say’ our Miracle is on the way and I couldn’t feel more blessed. You’re negativity means nothing to us. We are happy, we’ve BEEN happy and will always be HAPPY no mat- ter what they say.’’

Eric ‘Eazy E’ Wright and his daughter, Erin Wright
With Straight Outta Comp- ton still topping the box office for a third consecutive week, more and more discussions (and/or gossip) surfaces about N.W.A. and the circum- stances surrounding Eazy E’s untimely passing.
The 23-year-old daughter of the late rapper, Erin Wright, is on the verge of continuing the legacy of her father: Not only with her own music (an EP titled We Want EB), but also a documentary about his life. The doc is titled A Ruth- less Scandal: No More Lies and will shed more light about her father’s stuff she says was- n’t covered in the film. She says they are looking for fund- ing and plan on releasing it during the second half of 2016.
"A lot of Eazy E's storyline was missing but that's okay be-
cause I'm producing a docu- mentary that will show every- thing including his death,” she said. “The main focus is the scandal surrounding my fa- ther’s death, what happened to his estate, and all the people that were involved: the good, the bad, and the ugly, and it’s gonna touch a little bit more on his life. It will get more in- depth than the movie,” she ex- plained to MadameNoire.
Erin says she likes the film, but thought they could have included more info about Eazy’s success after the group disbanded. “He did discover Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, one of the biggest rap groups of all time. The movie man- aged to show the successes that Dre and Ice Cube had outside of N.W.A, but not my dad,” she said.
