MR. LOUIS A. BURGESS
A memorial celebration for Mr. Louis A. Burgess of Tampa, whose spirit as- cended into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015, will be held on Tues- day, September 8th at 6 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating.
Louis was a retired long- shoreman. In his younger years he was a prize-winning boxer. His favorite pastimes were fishing and eating at the Waffle House and socializing amongst friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Louis and Ophelia Burgess; 2 sons, Lit- tle Louis and Roosevelt Car- well; and a daughter, Abby Sanders.
He leaves to cherish his memories with: his wife of 54 years, Eula Burgess; son, Louis Burgess; 1 grandson, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren; his dear special friend, Kathy Ham- montree; loving caretakers, Charles Warren and Ike Thomas; special son, Snoopy; and all of his Waffle House friends.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for his service on Tuesday evening.

MR. STEPHEN GEETOOAH
Homegoing celebration for Mr. Stephen Geetooah, affectionately known as “Mr. Lerry” and “Charlie” of Tampa, who passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015, will be held Saturday, Sep- tember 5th at 12 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Tim Lan- caster, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Stephen was born Novem- ber 28, 1928, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, to the late Nathaniel and Poly Rosa Gee- tooah.
Stephen loved to travel, fix cars, music, especially Christmas Carols. He also enjoyed spending time on holiday with family and friends.
In his younger years, he was an outstanding athlete and loved playing soccer and cricket.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and siblings, Larry and Marge Geetooah.
He leaves to cherish fond memories of his life with: his loving wife, Lurrie Shakes; dedicated children, Claudette McDonald, Ingrid Bailey (Michael), Ann Shakes and Michael Shakes; beloved grandchildren, Elaine and Brian McDonald, Thakima Shakes (Jeff Thomas), Can- dice Shakes (Brandon Mills), Darnell Shakes (Sherry), Kuran, Thamika, Annika, Mickey, Melinik, Nigel, Ashanti and Isaiah Shakes; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Ralph, Lenox and John “Honeyboy” Geetooah; sisters, Olive and Pearl Gee- tooah and Jean Pollonain (Alphonso); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and special friends, Ganett, Collie and Clarky.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 4th, from 5-8 p. m. The family will re- ceive friends from 5-6 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.

MRS. MARY SCRIVEN
A homegoing visitation for Ms. Mary Scriven of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, will be held Friday, Septem- ber 4th, from 5-8 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Mary attended Hernando High School.
She enjoyed cooking, at- tending family events, spend- ing time with her grandchildren, reading the Bible, going to Church and listening to Gospel Music.
Prior to her death, she gave her life to God by join- ing New Life Tabernacle Church.
She was a giving person and always welcomed every- one with open arms. She also enjoyed cooking Sunday meals for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Eugene Scriven and Annabel Sanders; sisters, Ruth Bunch and Betty Stokes; brother, Daniel Stokes; and grand- daughter, De’onie Bowman.
She leaves to cherish her memories with: children, Natasha Scrivens Ponder (Ronnie), Cedric Scrivens, Jamere Scrivens (Rockell), and Bridgett Bowman (Ed- ward); grandchildren, Kar- los, Jr., Te’asha and Keshon Wilson, Nijai Bowman, Lamarianna and Jannya Scrivens, Jahmier Anderson and Emaria Myers; brothers, Eugene Scrivens, Jr. and Clif- ford Scrivens (Jean); uncle, Buster Scrivens; nieces, Linda Bunch, Shawn Bur- nette, Emma Mathis and Cynthia Waddy; nephews, George Houston (Jerlen), John Wright, Jr. (Twiana), Tyrone Bunch and Curtis Bunch (Dawn); a host of cousins; and other relatives; and special friends, Sandra Payne, Author Williams, Robert Whitehead, Shirley “babysister”, Lisa Young- blood-Guydon, Linda Young- blood-Perkins, Tonya Copeland and Ivory Robin- son.
There will be a wake serv- icetobeginat6p.m.,andthe family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday evening for the serv- ice.

MR. MARIO B. NORATES
Mr. Mario B. Norates, 56, passed away on Monday, Au- gust 24, 2015, at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Havana, Cuba, and was a member of Glory to Glory Church in Tampa.
Mario was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela No- rates.
He is survived by: his fa- ther, Medardo Norates; sons, Mario, Roland and Gabriel Norates; his brother, Arthur Norates; sisters, San- dra, Crystal and Keisha No- rates; grandchildren, Diondre, Serenity, Arianna, and Staizah; nieces and nephews, Keith, Eddie, Char- ity, Arvanta, Lakeitha, Keith, Jr., Brian, Yolanda M., Yolanda N., Keisha, Lewis and Breshana; and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, from 6-8 p. m. followed by a funeral service on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 12 p. m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.

MR. WILLIE JAMES PONDER
Homegoing services for Mr. Willie James Ponder “Gator” will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 11 a. m. at Abundant Life Center, William Tolbert will officiate the service.
Mr. Willie James Ponder was born on September 7, 1945. He went to be with our Heavenly Father on August 25, 2015.
Willie, affectionately known as Gator, was born in Boston, GA. He came to Tampa at the age of 12. He was educated in the Hillsbor- ough County School System and graduated from Blake High School in 1965.
Mr. Ponder was employed by the City of Tampa as a Sanitation Worker. In 1969, he met Lue Ponder and they were married and to this union, 4 beautiful children were born.
Mr. Ponder was preceded in death by: his parents, Lulla Mae Brown and David Ponder, Sr.; a brother, David Ponder, Jr.; and uncle, George Ponder.
Mr. Ponder leaves to cher- ish his memories: 3 daugh- ters, Angie Tolbert, Michelle Tolbert, and Felicia Ponder (Kevin); son, Michael Ponder (Lacitia); sisters, Doris Brown (Sylvester), Kathy Brown, Louise Brown, and Mary Brown (Willie); brother, James Brown; spe- cial aunt, Johnnie Mae Pon- der; grandchildren, Tavario Teandrenique, Wanya, De’Arile, Eric, Malique, MaKayla, Jacob, Nevaeh, De- very, Leandrenique, Angela, Komeesha and Mose; great grands, TaRiyah, TaSharya, TaVariya, Kamy’la and Eli- jah; a host of nieces and nephews; and special nieces, Sonia Tolbert, Deborah Pon- der and Shelia Thomas.
