TAMPA POLICE MAJOR HONORED
On Thursday, May 28th, police officers, city officials, family members and friends gathered to wish Tampa Police Major Diane Hobdy Burney well on her next venture. Major Hobdy Burney retired after serving 27 years with the Tampa Police Department, to become the Chief of Police at the Fort Pierce Police Department. In addition to current co-workers, some who have retired came out to wish her well. Among those attending the event held at the Conference Room in the Tampa Park Plaza were from left to right: former Tampa Police Chief Bennie Holder, Tampa Police Chief Eric Ward, Major Diane Hobdy Burney, retired Tampa Police As- sistant Chief Tina Wright, and Mrs. Ida Walker, Administrative Assistant to Chief Ward.
